Art Safety for Educational Facilities – Physical Hazards

UNV-28.2

Art involves having a creative vision, and using tools and skill to bring it to life. Unfortunately, those tools and techniques can be potentially hazardous. Some hazards are pretty obvious, like open flames from welding tools or kilns. Others, such as noisy work areas and ultraviolet light, are less obvious. Learners who successfully complete this course should be able to identify common types of physical hazards, physical hazards associated with art tools and equipment, and the physical hazards of art studio environments. This course is designed for students or employees in art studio environments.
