Incident Investigation – Canada

INV-1.2can

In a perfect world, there would be no workplace incidents or injuries. Unfortunately, workplace injuries are all too common. The Association of Workers’ Compensation Boards of Canada reports that over a period of one year, there were 951 workplace fatalities and 251,508 workplace injuries reported in Canada. Most of these incidents could have been avoided. When an incident occurs in your workplace, investigating it can help determine why it happened and what changes need to be made to keep an incident like it from happening again. At the completion of this course, learners should be able to recognize key terms and roles involved in incident investigations. They should also be able to identify aspects of incident investigation, and the steps of an incident investigation.
