Performing Safety Audits

AUD-1.2

In 2013 – the most recent year statistics were available – there were slightly more than three million reportable nonfatal injuries and illnesses among private industry workers, almost all of which could have been prevented. While training, personal protective equipment and other preventive measures play an important role in incident prevention, safety audits are a cornerstone of safe workplace culture. Safety audits can help employers and their employees identify existing workplace hazards and create appropriate controls to prevent injury or illness. This course is appropriate for all workers and supervisors in general, construction, oil and gas, and other industrial and office settings. This course does not address any specific OSHA training requirements, but is instead based on industry best practices and accepted methods for performing effective safety audits. This course is presented in English and Spanish.
