Safety Data Sheets – Canada

A safety data sheet, or SDS, provides employees with information about hazardous chemicals. SDSs must follow a standard format, and will always present certain information that workers and emergency responders need. This course is intended to help employees understand what information is presented in the SDS and where to find it. After successfully completing the course, learners should be able to identify the purpose and key components of a safety data sheet, including the 16 sections required by the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), an international system of rules for classifying and labeling chemicals.
