Most theater workers, whether onstage or offstage, work for the joy of putting on a performance. However, there are plenty of safety hazards in the theater, including some that aren’t so obvious, and theater workers are still subject to OSHA regulations. On top of that, there are some behaviors common in theater environments that workers need to overcome to keep themselves safe. Learners who successfully complete this course should be able to identify general hazard communication and control procedures, as well as safety considerations for stagecraft work, wardrobe and makeup work, and general safety considerations for theater work.
