It has been estimated that one in four Canadian workers work with and are exposed to one or more hazardous chemicals at work each day. There are approximately 650,000 existing chemical products available today, and hundreds more are introduced annually. Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to recognize and carry out his or her fundamental responsibilities to work safely with or near hazardous chemicals as required by the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). This course is intended for employees in Canada who may use, handle or be exposed to hazardous chemicals as part of their job duties. This course covers the WHMIS 1988 standard, and is intended for workplaces that still have product labels and MSDSs that are compliant with WHMIS 1988. This course is presented in both English and French.
