OSHA 10 training prepares students to recognize, avoid, and prevent the safety and health hazards they will encounter in their first jobs. The course also covers workers’ rights and employer responsibilities, so students enter the workforce with a clear understanding of what a safe workplace looks like.
Students who complete the course with a score of at least 70% earn an official US Department of Labor OSHA 10 card, shipped within two weeks of course completion to their instructor to hand out. The credential holds value for a lifetime and signals readiness to employers across construction, manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, and other industries. This valuable credential fits on any resume and gives K-12 and postsecondary students an advantage as they enter the workforce.

OSHA 10 General Industry vs OSHA 10 Construction
Choose the course that matches your program’s career pathway. Both courses lead to a Department of Labor OSHA 10 card, certificate of completion, and digital badge upon completion with a score of 70% or higher. All OSHA 10 courses are available in English and Spanish. Successful course completion earns one (1) Continuing Education Unit from an accredited IACET provider.
The OSHA 10 General Industry course is an online, OSHA-authorized version of OSHA’s Outreach Training Program for general industry workers. Students learn to recognize, avoid, abate, and prevent common workplace hazards, and they study workers’ rights and employer responsibilities so they understand what a safe workplace looks like before their first job. It is the right course for students in healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, automotive, and most CTE pathways outside of construction trades.

Please note: All course participants have three opportunities to pass the online test and receive immediate feedback after incorrect responses. All training must be completed within 180 days of the course start date. Successful completion requires participants to spend at least 10.25 hours in the online course and supplemental material. Course participants are required to complete a course evaluation at the end of the course to receive a certificate of completion and DOL/OSHA Card.

How long does OSHA 10 training take?
Students must spend at least 10 hours in the course. OSHA limits training to 7.5 hours per day, so most students complete the course over two or more sessions. Quizzes, the final exam, and the course evaluation are in addition to the 10-hour minimum.
What is the difference between OSHA 10 General Industry and OSHA 10 Construction?
OSHA 10 Construction covers hazards specific to construction worksites, including falls, electrocution, struck-by, and caught-in hazards. OSHA 10 General Industry covers hazards in healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, automotive, and other non-construction settings. Choose the course that matches your students’ career pathway.
Does the OSHA 10 card expire?
The Department of Labor OSHA 10 card does not expire under federal OSHA rules. Some employers, states, or jobsites require workers to retake OSHA 10 training periodically.
